“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13
When the Holy Spirit anoints a person, a spiritual boldness from the Holy Spirit comes with it. The meaning describes a supernatural unction or power that puts force behind what you are doing. The authority and the power of God are working through you, producing within you a supernatural strength to act.
Boldness will manifest for someone proclaiming God’s Word. It was said about Jesus that He spoke with authority. When Jesus taught, there was a force of power that influenced Him as a voice for God, teaching and preaching with boldness. Jesus was a very powerful man that had a great impact on His generation.
Boldness will manifest when the anointing manifests for performing healing, raising the dead, changing natural circumstances, and other miracles. This boldness is more than bravery; it is a supernatural empowerment to execute the anointing of God.
Boldness will manifest with power when taking authority over a spiritual enemy. There is a spiritual revelation of who God is and that we represent Him. This bold anointing is poured out, not worked up. This boldness comes from God, not from stirring up emotion.
Boldness is not rudeness. Paul says in I Corinthians 13 that love is not rude. Don’t try to excuse bad behavior stemming from an untamed personality. Boldness is not presumption. Faith begins where the will of God is known. Yes, God wants a person to experience all the benefits of our salvation that Christ paid for at the cross, but He also is not obligated to perform based on the manipulation of self-sufficiency or self-indulgence. Faith finds boldness in the confidence that comes from submission. Boldness is not foolishness. Wisdom and knowledge are also from God. A developed intellect is an asset to the believer when used in submission to the Holy Spirit. Boldness is not ignorant of truth or void of reason.
The boldness that comes from the Holy Spirit gives us the confidence that God will accomplish His purpose. There is no doubt, no other option!
