1 Samuel 19-21

In our reading today we have David and Jonathan entering in Covenant together (1 Samuel 20:14-17). Jonathan knew that even in the natural he was in line to be king, he also knew that David was anointed to be king. They entered into Covenant that when David’s enemies were removed that David would be merciful to Jonathan’s house, all his descendants. David was faithful to that covenant and took care of Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son (2 Samuel 9). I encourage you to study out these passages there are types and foreshadows revealed in the passages that will be a blessing to you.

Luke 15:11-32

In our reading today is the story of the prodigal son. It is imperative that we see God our Father as the Father in this story. Our father is so tender hearted  toward us. In the story, the prodigal was still a great way off when his Father saw him. Saints, our father is looking for all of us when we were astray and his heart yearns for us to come home. He ran to his son and hugged and kissed him. He loves us.
