Exodus 39, 40

In our reading today we have Moses finishing the construction of the Tabernacle. As soon as the Tabernacle was complete the glory cloud of God covered the Tabernacle (Exodus 40:33-35). The glory of God was so powerful that Moses could not even enter the Tabernacle. The effect upon Moses was similar to what happened to the priests during the dedication of the Temple under Solomon, it was physically impossible to stand, impossible to walk.) This same pillar of cloud of the glory of God was what led Israel in the desert up to this point (Exodus 13:20-22). And it would lead them throughout their journey in the wilderness(Exodus 40:36-38). It is a type and foreshadow of us in the New Covenant of being led by the Spirit of God. Romans 8:10-14 “And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 814 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Let us follow His leading. #covertocover #growchurches

Matthew 24:1-22

In our reading today we have a verse that puts the fear of God in me. Matthew 24:12 “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” Iniquity is abounding arounds as never before. We are seeing such things in our culture that are so ungodly it is almost unbelievable if we weren’t seeing them with our own eyes. As horrible as these things are it is not worth it to us individually to allow such things to cause the love of God in our hearts to grow cold. Such things must be addressed, but they must be addressed in the love of God (Ephesians 5:15, 16). Jude 21 declares “Keep yourselves in the love of God”. It is probably one of the greatest struggles believers will have in the last days. There are tools that God has given us to do this. Jude 20 declares “But you, beloved, build yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost”. Pray in the spirit. #covertocover #growchurches
