1 Corinthians 15:1-32

Jesus is alive!
Paul, as the Apostle of this church, is the one who started and oversaw this body of believers. Paul’s responsibility was not only to teach truth, but to correct wrong doctrine. There were members of the Corinthian community that believed there was no physical resurrection of the dead (verse 12). They also believed they should be baptized on behalf of the dead (verse 29). In this letter, Paul reaffirms this fundamental truth of Christianity that God raised Jesus from death, providing our salvation. In addition, Paul doesn’t support any type of baptism, sacrifice, or prayer for a person once they pass away; he merely asked them why they had this ritual of getting baptized for the dead if they didn’t believe in the resurrection. In chapter 13, Paul said that in this lifetime, we see through a glass dimly, but in heaven, we’re doing to see clearly and know all things. In the church today, there are going to be different viewpoints, ideas, and interpretation of Scripture. Some differences are minor and some are major. One reason why God has called, appointed, and anointed pastors is to bring clarity to spiritual truth in the local church, teaching the Word of God and correcting false doctrine. Let’s remember to pray for our pastors and church planters, understanding the weight of the responsibility they have for our churches.

Proverbs 9-10

Wisdom has both spiritual and natural principles, and the two work hand-in-hand. When it comes to provision, God will sometimes supernaturally supply our need through something or someone unexpected. In Proverbs 10:4, 5, we read about the principles of diligence and hard work. Let’s be grateful and responsible for both spiritual and natural wisdom in order to receive and live in the promises of God.
