God is Just

God is Just

“He is the Rock; his deeds are perfect. Everything he does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright he is! Deuteronomy 32:4 NLT

God is just. To be just is to do the right and fair thing, without partiality.

God is the definition of what is considered right, and anything outside of Him is outside of the realm of right; it’s evil. As the supreme authority, God sets the standard for what right and wrong, the standard for good and evil. God always does the right thing. God is good. God is also fair, treating human beings equally, without favoritism.

Here are three things to remember when life doesn’t seem just:
1. God gave authority of the earth to mankind. God has given people a will, allowing them to make choices. Sometimes people are unjust, but never God.
2. The sin of mankind caused people to fall short of God’s glory. Spiritually they died (separated from God, their life). The nature of men and women was twisted and made evil. The world, also, is fallen from it’s intended design. Maybe the world seems unfair, but it could be the world we live in. God is just.
3. We have a spiritual enemy, Satan. When Adam sinned, Satan gained authority in this world. When life seems unjust, it could be Satan at work, but never God. Satan might even cause trouble and blame God, but we know God is just.

Even when unjust things happen, know God is still just. Don’t doubt His character or His righteousness.

For those who belong to God and pursue to know Him, there is a longing for justice, for things to be made right. Our good Father wants the same thing. Whether in this world or in the one to come, God promises to make things right.

God is also merciful. When we grow spiritually, we should also desire mercy – for ourselves as well as others. God longs for people to turn back to Him in repentance and surrender.

When we pray, we invite our good and just Father to make things right in our lives and our world. He will do it!

Application: Are you dealing with a situation where you wonder, “Where is God?” Whatever we are feeling, thinking, or seeing; God wants us to press in through prayer and faith and believe in His faithfulness.
