Lifted Into Position

“He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.” I Thessalonians 5:24

Is there anyone out there that is struggling to rise up to what you sense is your God-given destiny? You try your best and still you feel like you continually fall short of your purpose? Do you have that knowing on the inside of you that tells you there is so much more?

John 15 says that without Christ, we can do nothing. There is wisdom in the understanding that true fulfillment can only come with God’s help. It’s not that God has this narcissistic need to be the center of everything; it’s that God IS the center of everything. Life begins with knowing the love of the One we belong to, which means much more than any accomplishment. In knowing Him, we are raised up by Him and in Him. What God wants to do in our life, God will do, as we seek Him.

Just as God wants you to know Him, He wants the world to know Him. God is always looking for some way and someone to show His glory through. We see lives of people from history that could not have risen up to do what they did without God’s help. God gets the credit for lifting them into their position. Look at these examples:

David (Acts 13:22)
Moses (Acts 7:37)
Pharaoh (Romans 9:17)
John the Baptist (Matthew 11:11)
Jesus as priest (Hebrews 7:11)
Jesus (Acts 2:20; 3:22,36)

In addition, God pulled Joseph out of a pit, Jonah out of a whale, Lazarus out of a grave, and Peter out of prison. What has God pulled you out of? David said in Psalm 40:2, “He brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.” Praise God, He is willing to go to the depths to find us, raise us up, and set us in position just like He promised.

When God establishes a person, He sets him or her in a position He has chosen for his or her life. When God sets you, no one can remove you. When God raises a person, He does so with purpose – to produce something. Romans 7:4 speaks about becoming one with Christ, who was raised from the dead, “that we should bear fruit to God.” When something is alive, it produces, and you are alive in Christ!
