Romans 10
God’s Word is important in the building up of our faith in God. Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Faith is dependency, so we can’t lean on God if we don’t know what God wants. When we know God’s plan, we can rely and act on it in obedience surrender! A perfect example of this in found in Acts 14:7-10 “And there they preached the gospel. 14:8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked: 14:9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, 14:10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.” The man in the crowd at Lystra was a cripple from birth, he had never walked. But he was listening to Paul preach. Now if this man had faith in his heart ot be healed from listening to Paul, then it must be so that Paul was including physical healing in his faith filled salvation message of the gospel. Otherwise where would he get faith to be healed if it were not from what Paul was preaching. This is why we need to daily read God’s word and regularly attend a local Bible believing church. Because we hear faith when we hear the word of God.

Psalm 88-89
We can put our trust in God! In our reading today we have the promise of God concerning His Covenant. Psalm 89:34 “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.” When God gives us a promise, we know He will keep that promise! The Bible says in Hebrews 6:18, “It’s impossible for God to lie.” Also, in Numbers 23:19 in says, “God is not a man, that he should lie; nor a son of man, that he should repent. Has He said, and will he not do it? Or has He spoken, and will he not make it good and fulfill it?” God will not lie, tease, or manipulate you. He keeps His promises!
